OT supports the whole child — body, mind, and emotions — through fun, purposeful movement and play. We help children strengthen skills in:
- Sensory processing & self-regulation (responding to touch, sound, movement)
- Emotional regulation — calming big feelings and learning coping tools
- Executive functioning — focus, organization, and follow-through
- Developmental delays — supporting age-appropriate milestones
- Gross motor coordination & balance — strength, posture, and body awareness
- Motor planning & sequencing — organizing multi-step tasks like climbing or cutting
- Fine motor skills — improving pencil grasp, scissor use, and hand strength
- Handwriting & pre-writing — using the Handwriting Without Tears program
- Pencil grasp development & pressure control
- Primitive reflex integration — addressing retained reflexes affecting coordination
- Visual motor & perceptual skills — copying, coloring, and eye-hand coordination
You might notice your child struggles with transitions, sensory input, attention, or fine motor skills. Common signs include:
- Difficulty sitting still or following directions
- Emotional outbursts or frustration with transitions
- Avoiding or seeking certain textures, sounds, or movements
- Clumsiness, balance issues, or fear of playground equipment
- Trouble with handwriting, cutting, or self-help tasks
- Delays in milestones or appearing 'a bit behind' peers
If these sound familiar, OT can uncover sensory, motor, or developmental root causes and create a plan that helps your child thrive at home and school.
Yes! These programs are key parts of our emotional regulation and self-awareness training. The Zones of Regulation teaches children to identify and manage how they feel — blue (tired), green (calm), yellow (silly/anxious), or red (angry/overwhelmed) — while How Does Your Engine Run? uses playful 'engine speed' visuals to help kids tune into their bodies. We include parent training so you can use these same strategies at home for consistency and success.
The evaluation is engaging, fun, and individualized! Your therapist spends 45 minutes to 1 hour assessing how your child moves, plays, focuses, and processes sensory information. We also screen for fine motor, gross motor, visual motor, and reflex integration skills. You’ll receive a clear overview of strengths and areas for growth, along with next-step recommendations.
We believe parents are our best partners in progress. You’ll receive training in how to support sensory, motor, and emotional development at home — including calming strategies, fine-motor activities, and visual routines. We’ll teach you how to recognize when your child’s 'engine' is running too fast or too slow and how to help them self-regulate effectively.
Therapy sessions are 30 minutes of focused, goal-directed play that keeps your child motivated and engaged. Most families attend 1–2 times per week, depending on goals, insurance, and progress.
Yes! We participate with most major insurance plans, including Horizon BCBS, Aetna, AmeriHealth, Oxford, Meritain, and UnitedHealthcare. We verify benefits for every new family and review everything before your first session — no surprises!
We’re a family-owned, sensory-integrated practice where therapy feels like play — not work. Our therapists blend clinical skill with creativity and compassion, guiding your child through emotional, sensory, and motor milestones in a fun, supportive environment. Children leave sessions feeling proud, calm, and capable — and parents leave feeling empowered with real-life tools they can use every day.
